Hyundai N Vision 74
"From Imagination into Reality’. - Hyundai
After seven years Hyundai N realizes its mission for hydrogen-powered high performance. N Vision 74 sets its sight beyond electric cars. N Vision represents Hyundai design's vision for a sustainable future. Its design surpasses all expectations for what future high-performance cars should look like. The N Vision 74 has been heavily inspired by both Hyundai's design/heritage and the brand's technology for the future.
The N Vision design is heavily inspired by the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept from 1974 hence the "74" in the name N vision 74.
In fact, Legendary car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the Pony Coupe. The concept went on to be built into prototypes for Hyundai’s first production sports car.
However, the Pony did not reach production in the end but set the tone for the entire company. 50 years later, Hyundai is revisiting this EV concept and couldn't have done it better. The Hyundai N Vision 74 elevates the Pony Coupe as a timeless icon. Its design profile transcends time inspired by the past while moving towards the future of high performance.
The launch of Hyundai's 'N' brand had begun with revealing The Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor show. Hyundai N 2025 Vision, meaning 'the vision of 2025', implies that Hyundai intends to lead hydrogen technology into high performance.
This Hybrid vehicle comes with two electric motors generating a combined 670 bhp. The motors take their power from a 62kW battery just like any other electric hybrid. Now the part that is "from the future" is the onboard electricity power station. Hyundai has built a hydrogen fuel cell into this car with hydrogen fuel tanks weighing just 4.2 kilos. The fuel tanks can be fully refuelled in just 5 minutes giving you another 370 miles of range. As N Vision 74 is the first high-performance rolling lab built with hydrogen fuel cells, the vehicle has been designed to balance both cooling and aerodynamics.
However, with such high-tech features, comes high demanding heat management requirements the high-performance technology is fully integrated into the design to meet these demands.
