ORA Funky Cat
Retro design, forward-thinking innovation.
Though you may have never heard of it, Ora is a car brand owned by the giant Chinese Electric Vehicle corporation Great Wall Motors (GWM). In the year 2021, they sold over 1.2 million cars, 1 million more than "MINI". GWM operates in 60 countries and is ongoing a 50/50 joint collaboration with BMW. But do they have what it takes to sway you into purchasing one of their vehicles?
Available in four different colour options:
In terms of design, this electric vehicle takes aspects from a few vehicles. The front features MINI-inspired headlights with a 'funky' start-up/shut-down light-up sequence. The overall structure/design of this electric vehicle feels like it has been inspired by the Volkswagen Beetle and MINI. The most unique design feature of this electric vehicle would have to be the badge, easily noticeable but really makes you think what is this vehicle? Another unique feature is a hexagonal detailing just under the headlights perhaps an ORA trademark.
Along the side of this electric vehicle, you've got 18"inch allow wheels as standard. You will find your charging port on the left side towards the front of the vehicle. The side of the vehicle doesn't feature anything outstanding like automatic door handles or engraved design features.
The back of this electric vehicle may be the most interesting part of this exterior design. Featuring a large rear roof spoiler swooping off the roof of the vehicle. Lights aren't exactly where you would expect in fact, the lights are in multiple places. Indicator lights at the bottom, a brake light high up just under the rear roof spoiler, a brake led light bar in the middle, and a small F1-inspired fog light at the bottom. The boot is not massive and comes in at just 228 litres however this is slightly bigger than the rival electric MINI.
As for the inside of this vehicle depending on your colour As for the overall design elements, the inside looks and feels nice with leather seating and stitching aspects used throughout the vehicle. in the centre console, you can see the vehicle has been clearly inspired by a MINI with buttons that look almost identical. In the front, you will also find two USB ports a wireless charging compartment and a fairly decent-sized centre console storage area.
In the back, you will find everything you'd expect of a normal family vehicle, decent storage, an armrest with two cup holders, and good head/legroom. However, there is only one USB port in the back so passengers will have to share.
